The Barden Party is Shakespeare like you’ve never seen it before (their name comes from The Bard + Garden Party), and they have quickly established themselves as a must-see event, with bookings in private gardens and public venues right across the country this summer.
Unlike any other Shakespeare performance you may have seen in the past, The Barden Party offers a truly authentic vintage theatre experience with a modern twist - operating as a traveling troupe just as was done hundreds of years ago. They carry all of their props and set with them and are able to adapt their performance to suit a wide variety of spaces, giving them the freedom to transform the beautiful grounds of Forrest Winery into a joyful world of lords and ladies and fairy magic, with mischief and laughter aplenty.
Directed by Laura Irish, this family-friendly jukebox musical extravaganza makes Shakespeare’s language accessible for audiences of all ages and experience levels. With lively musical outbursts and laugh-out-loud moments woven throughout the story, this lighthearted comedy is the perfect chance for the uninitiated to dip their toes into the world of Shakespeare.
BYO blankets, chairs, cushions, picnics, and soft drinks. A selection of wine from the Forrest and Doctors range and Double Vision brewing beers will be available for purchase, due to our licence no BYO on alcoholic beverages.
This event will take place outside in the grounds of Forrest Winery. In the event that we are unable to proceed with an outdoor event the performance will be moved to a marquee in the grounds.
This event is taking place in a vaccine pass venue – all attendees over 12 will need to present their vaccine pass on arrival.
This event is designed to go ahead at all levels of the traffic light system.
