The industry recognises that grapevine pruning is an integral management practice required for quality wines. This competition has been developed to encourage a high standard and to recognise the skills of our winter workforce. This is a one of a kind event held in Marlborough and the ultimate goal is to find the champions of the industry.
As New Zealand’s largest wine producing region, we could not produce our wines without the workforce and important job the men and women from all over the globe do every year within our world-renown vineyards. Marlborough employs a collective 3,000 + workers each year. This is an opportunity for the wine industry to celebrate and support this group of hard working professionals.
The 2019 competition will be held on Sunday 25th August at the Yealands Estate Vineyard, Grovetown.
